Alex Fiske Drowns While on Vacation, Aug. 6, 1921

Bather Drowned in Laurel Park Lake

Asheville, Aug. 6—Alex G. Fiske of Hot Springs, Ark., was drowned in Laurel Park Lake at Hendersonville shortly after noon Friday. The coroner’s jury returned a verdict that Fiske came to his death because of heart failure. He appeared at the lake after being furnished a bathing suit and entered the lake. Two life guards later missed him and a search was instituted. The lake was dragged, and his body was found under eight feet of water.
