Asheville, Sept. 18—Investigation of proposed routes for a railroad into Ashe, Wataugua, Wilkes and Alleghany counties, known as ‘the lost provinces,’ has been completed and a survey by engineers is to be made so that a report may be submitted at the meeting of the state legislature next January, Chariman Benehan Cameron, chairman of the commission appointed by the last legislature, said here today. Consideration is being made of selling the state’s interest in the North Carolina and the Atlantic and North Carolina railroad and investing the sum in a new line through the counties.
