Salisbury, Sept. 20—E. Ross Cress, brakeman for the Southern in the Spencer yards, died at a local hospital last night from injuries received late yesterday afternoon when a freight car ran over him. Mr. Cress fell from a train that was being shifted and his left leg and right foot were smashed off.
Mr. Cress was 41 years old and lived on South Jackson street, Salisbury. He is survived by a widow and five children.
