Carthage—One of the biggest projects for a long time in Moore county is in the air at the present time for the western side of the county. As the report goes, the Smitherman Power Company, which has electric development and mill interest at Troy and at Moncure, is making surveys along Drowning Creek, and has already secured land and water rights along the stream and its tributaries on which it is planned to build dams and develop power and ultimately to build cotton mills and give the west side of Moore a start that will toss an industrial bomb in this whole section.
