New Members of Chowan Library Club, Desired Books, Oct. 11, 1923

The Library Continues to Grow

Although the Chowan College Library Club is growing daily, it has not grown as fast as it was hoped that it would. The following new members have been added since the last issue:

Misses Sara and Irma Vaughn

Miss Camilla Manson

Miss Jessie Marie Parker

Miss Adalia Futrell

Miss Hazel Griffin

Misses Nancy Parker and Edna Mills

Miss Hilda Matthews

Miss Estelle Carlton

Mr. Fred J. Stimson, Aulander, N.C.

Mrs. T.B. Wynn

Mrs. W.A. McGlohon

Mrs. D.O. Spiers, Como, N.C.

Miss Mary Etta Picot, Como, N.C.

Miss Carolyn Weaver, Montevallo, Alabama

Mrs. J.L. Wade, Nashville, Tenn.

This makes a total of 44 members.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about the basis of membership. It is the gift of one book a month to the library for one year only.

Some valuable books which have been given as a result of the club are:

“Criticisms of the New Era in American Poetry” by Louis Utermyer.

“The Greek Theater and Its Drama” by Roy C. Flickinger.

“Legacy of Greece” by R.W. Livingstone

“Athenian Tragedy” by Thos. Dwight Goodell.
