Durham City Firemen Respond to Chimney Fire, Burning Field, March 15, 1924

Firemen Respond Twice Saturday. . . Burning Chimney and Blazing Field Call Local Fire Companies Out

Two fire alarms were sounded on Saturday. At 10 o’clock in the evening a burning chimney at the residence of Will Brown on Arnette avenue called firemen out. The danger of a serious fire was curtailed and no damage resulted.

Saturday evening about 3 o’clock a burning field on North Trinity avenue called firemen out. Although the blazé was outside the city limits, local firefighters went to the scene and kept the fire from spreading to dwellings.
