Quite a number of people complain to the Public Ledger that their neighbors’ chickens and nondescript dogs are giving them considerable trouble.
“It is such a delicate question I dare not discuss it with my neighbor,” said a good lady, “and I want the Public Ledger to merely suggest that chickens should not be permitted to roam about the neighborhood.”
It is understood that Chief Hobgood will enforce the chicken law, but who among us wants to be drug through the Mayor’s court for the sake of a few scratching hens?
Moral—Keep your chickens at home.
