Whooping Cough, Measles Epidemics Continue in Durham County, March 9, 1924

Number Children Catch Diseases. . . Whooping Cough and Measles Tied in Report of Health Department

Measles and whooping cough, the two banes of existence of childhood, are tied in the weekly report of the county health department for first place in the list of communicable diseases reported during the past week. There were 22 cases of each disease reported, almost the same number for each disease that has been reported for the past several weeks during the course of the present epidemic.

Chicken-pox was a close second; 19 cases of this malady having been turned in to the health department.

One new case of tuberculosis and two cases of small pox were listed during the past week.
