Army Training Camps Report 72,327 Cases Spanish Influenza, Including 1,168 at Camp Jackson, S.C., 1918

Washington—The total number of Spanish influenza cases in all camps is 72,327. The new cases reported Sunday numbered 9,242 and those on Monday 11,024.

Three camps reported more than 1,000 new cases. Camp Pike, Arkansas had 1,205; Camp Sherman, Ohio, 1,200; and Camp Jackson, South Carolina, 1,168. Pneumonia cases are increasing at these camps but the death rate continues to be low.
