Herman K. Strader, who recently left this city for Beaufort, had quite a thrilling experience at that place last Saturday, according to reports reaching here today, in the rescue of a drowning man. The man fell overboard from a freighter which was moored quite a distance from the yacht on which Strader is now captain. Strader immediately got the yacht’s tender under way and succeeded in reaching the place where the victim had gone down for the third time. It was moonlight and from the bubbles that came to the surface Strader made a dive and soon had the unconscious man aboard the tender. He was soon resuscitated, and it reported out of danger.
