According to the July report of Dr. C.N. Sisk, county health officer, the population of Forsyth County, outside of Winston-Salem, is increasing rapidly. The vital statistics section of the report shows nearly six times as many births and deaths, the actual figures being as follows:
Births, 63; deaths, 11; Only 12 cases of contagious diseases were reported during the month, which is a record that Dr. Sisk is proud of. He states that he has every reason to believe that practically every such case was reported to him.

Cause of Deaths
Tuberculosis, 4; diarrhea, 1; diabetes mellitus, 1; malformation of head from birth, 1; organic heart disease, 1; uremic poison, 1; pellagra, 1; paralysis, 1; total 11.
Contagious Diseases
Whooping cough, 9; typhoid fever, 2; venereal disease, 1; total, 12.
Vaccinations
Typhoid vaccinations, 829; smallpox vaccinations, 12; toxin-antitoxin complete, 82; total, 923.
Tuberculosis Division
During the month a tuberculosis clinic was held and 133 applicants were examined by Dr. Spruill of the State Tuberculosis Association, with the following results: 56 were found positive; 59 negative, and 18 doubtful.
Infant and Maternal Hygiene
Prenatal cases registered, 4; home conferences with mothers, 30; Little Mothers’ League, children certificates, 22.
School Hygiene
Tonsil and adenoid operations, 1.
Medical and Laboratory Services
