Mother Shoots 9-Month-Old Through Head Trying to Get His Attention with "Unloaded" Rifle, March 15, 1924

A mother in Rutherford county accidentally shot her nine-months-old baby through the head on Saturday, the 8th. The ball entered the forehead and came out at the temple. Here is the wonder of the story: The baby is improving and will get well. The mother was trying to attract the attention of the child with an “unloaded” 22 rifle. When she set the gun down, it went off.
