Capt. E.F. Lovill, 82, Has Died, Jan. 5, 1925

Capt. E.F. Lovill of Boone Is Dead. . . Was Prominent Mason and Confederate Veteran—Legislator and a Prominent Lawyer

Boone, Jan. 3—Captain E.F. Lovill died in Boone this morning after a serious illness of some weeks, though he had been in ill health for some months. Nearly 83 years of age, he was a Confederate veteran and had lived in Boone for about 50 years. He was a prominent Mason. He will be buried at 2 p.m. Sunday, and the Masons will take part in the burial services.

Captain Lovill was distinguished in the state as a legislator and prominent lawyer. He had been president of the board of trustees of the Appalachian Training School from its foundation as a State institution. He was also one of the trustees of the Oxford Orphanage. He was known as a friend of mankind and this community will greatly miss his kindly service.

Captain Lovill was one of the most distinguished men in this part of the State and was well known in other sections.
