Dr. Joe Hartsell’s Auto Among Those Burned in Raleigh Fire

The automobile of Dr. Joe A. Hartsell, an Essex coupe, was burned in the spectacular Raleigh fire Thursday morning which completely destroyed the building of the Raleigh Transfer Company, consuming approximately 135 automobiles stored in the building.

Dr. Hartsell had gone to Raleigh to attend the annual communication for the Grand Lodge of the State of North Carolina which was finished Wednesday night. He stayed over until Thursday morning, however, planning to make the trip home through the country. As a result of the fire, he was forced to make the trip home by way of bus.

The Essex belonging to Dr. Hartsell was only partially covered by insurance.
