A telegraphic communication was received by G.H. Hendrix Friday morning stating that the Rev. W.G. Campbell, former pastor of St. James Lutheran Church for seven years, had died at Woodstock, Va., where he was making his home.
Mr. Campbell came to Concord on July 2, 1886, and remained as pastor of St. James until August 27, 1893. His pastorate was most successful, being very popular with his members and the residents of the city. Since he left Concord, he had visited here a number of times.
The funeral services were conducted at Woodstock on Saturday.
