Laboratory Force of
U.S. Army Base Hospital, Camp Greene, Charlotte, N.C.
Every day is an open season against germs for this band of
ready workers. With every trick of chemistry they dog the trail of all disease
“bugs” that chance to enter the reservation of the base hospital. Day and night
these men and women are peering through microscopes, sterilizing, testing and
operating the powerful X-Ray machines in their efforts to safeguard the health
of the camp. The only grudge we hold against the organization is that they
impose the vaccinations and inoculations.
They are, from left to right in the upper row: Sgt. Franck,
Pvt. Howard, Capt. West, Pvt. Petrelli, Miss Lewis, Lieut. Wolf, Major Claude
Brown, Lieut. Ringstrom, Miss Hildreth, Pvt. Dice, Capt. Hart, Pvt. Thompson,
Miss Chapin, Sgt. North, Corp. Joe Lawlor.
Lower row: Pvt. Haw, Pvt. Bently, Pvt. Roberts, Corp. Mason,
Pvt. R. Smith, Sgt. Regner, Sgt. Martin
