The Pasquotank Municipal Hospital made a new addition to its staff this week in the person of Miss Myra Bowden, who comes to the hospital as an expert anesthetist and laboratory technician. Miss Bowden is a native of Zuni, Va., and her experience as a graduate nurse has been gained in hospitals in Suffolk, Richmond, Chicago and Norfolk. Miss Bowden comes to Elizabeth City from Norfolk.
The hospital has had very few patients since its opening last month, but that fact, according to W.P. Duff, president of the board of managers, is not to be regretted, as it has enabled the management to put the hospital in the best possible order and get its organization running smoothly.
The Ladies Hospital Aid Society, Mrs. C.D. Bell, president; Mrs. A.B. Houtz, secretary; Mrs. R.J. Cohoon, treasurer; are putting on a drive this week for memberships. Membership in the Hospital Aid Society costs $1 a year and the money derived from memberships is applied to hospital improvements and equipment.
