Greensboro, Aug. 4—The Proximity, Revolution and White Oak mills here, known as the Cone mills, are shut down for a two-week vacation. A large number of the operatives are visiting friends in other parts of the state. During the war these mills paid a bonus equal to the wage scale, and many of the employes invested n automobiles which they find useful now in visiting their friends when the plants stop for the annual vacation. The mills will resume work on August 14.
