M.K. Hearne to Keep Farm Product Records, Jan. 15, 1925

Keeps Marketing Records

M.K. Hearne, an instructor in the University’s school of Commerce, has been retained to keep the record of farm products marketed under the plan inaugurated by R.P. Harris last September. He will follow a book-keeping system devised by L.B. Rogerson at the request of M.E. Hogan, W.S. Roberson, Mr. Harris, and others who are interested in the project. Mr. Hearne will record day by day the quantities of the various products collected on the truck routes—chickens, eggs, butter, and so on—and the prices at which they are sold. At any time, on short notice, he will be prepared to produce a statement showing receipts and disbursements, market prices, quantities collected by individuals and by routes, and the expense of collection. Part of his work will be to calculate each week the amount due to the farmers and prepare the checks for them.
