Wilkesboro Building & Loan Association Holds Annual Meeting

The Wilkesboro Building & Loan Association met Monday with a large portion of the stockholders present. The organization had a splendid year—6 percent dividend was declared.

The following directors and officers were elected: W.A. Stroud, W.H. Foster, H.A. Cranor, C.F. Morrison, R.B. Pharr, F.B. Hendren, W.E. Linney, J.R. Rausseau, J.T. Prevette, J.H. Johnson and J.J. Hayes.

Officers are J.J. Hayes, president; F.B. Hendren, vice-president; W.A. Stroud, secretary; J.A. Rousseau, attorney. The loan committee is C.F. Morrison, J.H. Johnson, H.A. Cranor, W.F. Miller and J.J. Haynes.

The third series of building and loan was opened and something like 13,000 was subscribed or promised before meeting adjourned. Other stock will be solicited.

The secretary’s report showed that $33,000 had been loaned for building purposes.
