50 Young People Attend Theater Party and Supper with Buchanans, Aug. 24, 1926

Miss Butler Honored

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Buchanan delightfully entertained at their home on Main street Thursday evening at a Dutch supper followed by a theatre party, favoring Miss Alberta Butler, of Bladenboro, house guest of Miss Mayme Long.

About 50 young people, most of whom were college boys and girls, enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan.

Editor's Note: In 1926, a Dutch supper was informal, self‑serve or buffet‑style, and often cold dishes or simple hot dishes Guests helped themselves rather than being formally served. It was considered fun, casual, and modern — perfect for young people, according to Copilot.
