Asheville, Aug. 21—Mrs. C. R. Rogers, convicted of manslaughter in connection with the death of Mrs. W. P. Abbey, the result of an automobile collision here several weeks ago, was given a suspended sentence of four months in jail, ordered to pay ?? to Mr. Abbey and $200 into the Buncombe County school fund, in Superior Court today. The four months sentence given Mrs. Rogers is not to issue under condition that she does not operate any vehicle on the roads of Buncombe County for a period of 12 months.
Editor’s Note: The amount printed in newspaper was “$1,00”, which didn’t make sense. Was it supposed to be a single dollar, $100, $1,000? I have no way of knowing.
