Raleigh, Aug. 13—Typhoid continues to be prevalent over the State, according to the daily reports received by the State Board of Health, 65 cases having been reported so for this week. The largest number reported on any one day was Monday, when 34 cases were reported. Only nine new cases were reported Thursday.
The sudden increase in smallpox ranks next to typhoid, in the sudden jump this disease has taken with 27 new cases reported to date for this week. These cases are confined almost entirely to the rural districts.
Infantile paralysis is apparently on the decline, only three new cases having been reported this week.
