Rev. R. M. Courtney, pastor of Central Methodist Church, was called to Lenoir this afternoon by the death of his mother. There will be no preaching services at the Church tomorrow.
Details of Mrs. Courtney’s death were not received in the meager message telling of her death. She had been in declining health, but her condition was not regarded as serious, and the announcement of her death came as a great shock to her son here.
Mr. and Mrs. Courtney and son left for Lenoir soon after being advised of Mrs. Courtney’s death.
