Stedman Fletcher, an employe of the Auto Supply & Vulcanizing Co., of this city borrowed a ride in a snappy Chrysler Coach turned over to his employers for storage by a Washington, N.C., young Woman who was on her way to Nags Head Tuesday. The car skidded and turned turtle with him on a curve on the Newland Road near the city. Young Stedman and a companion, Maurice Brickehouse, escaped with minor bruises and scratches, but the Chrysler Coach didn’t fare so well.
Young Stedman is sure that if the car hadn’t been wrecked, its owner would never have known that he had borrowed it.
