Henry Edward Jacobs, 8-year-old son of Hursley Jacobs, Indian, of Pembroke, was instantly killed about 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a bolt of lightning.
The boy had just returned form a swim with his father and was leaning against a post on the back porch during an electric storm that visited that section, when the lightning struck the post and killed him.
No damage was done to the house other than splitting the post into splinters.
