A.W. Gurley Official Delegate to N.C. Firemen's Association Aug. 15, 1926

Named Gurley as Delegate. . . Will Represent Local Firemen at Annual State Convention

A.W. Gurley has been name as official delegate to represent the Goldsboro fire department in the annual meeting of the North Carolina Firemen’s Association at Morehead City beginning Aug. 15.

An alternate will be named for the local company, and Fire Chief Leslie Yelverton will probably attend some of the business sessions of the Association.

Fully 2,000 firemen are expected, since the state law require that every fire company in the state must be represented.

The address of welcome will be delivered by Mayor Luther Hamilton of Morehead City, and there will be an address by Charles S. Wallace, also of Morehead City, former member of the legislature. An interesting program of instruction and entertainment has been prepared. Stacey W. Wade, state commissioner of insurance, will be one of the speakers.
