The announcement was made last week by Dr. C. Z. Candler of this place and Dr. Tidmarsh of Bryson City were going to erect a hospital in the near future, on Courtland Heights.
Dr. Candler says that the building will be of brick and of fireproof construction. It is said that there will be about 30 rooms, and that the building will be modern in every respect.
Work will be started within a short time and rushed to completion, it is said.
The site selected is an ideal location for such an institution, as it is on Courtland Heights overlooking the town, and is within each reach, and yet it is far enough from the business section of the town so as to not be bothered with the noise of heavy traffic.
The building will be built in such a way that as the demand arises it may be added to without heavy expense of remodeling the main building. It is also said that these gentlemen will erect nurses’ cottages and a first class laundry.
