George Bryson, son of T. C. and L. P. Bryson, was falling timber on the C. W. Denning and Co.’s works on the 20th day of July, 1926, and as a tree fell it threw a limb back, which struck George on the head, knocked him down and buried his head in the ground. He was picked up and carried to Sylva as soon as possible but he died about the time that he reached the doctor’s office. He was a member of the Ocre Hill Baptist Church. George was not a perfect boy, but he was a Christian. But he, like all of us, made his mistakes, there being so much wickedness in the world and many wicked associates to influence young men that they can’t hardly live a devoted Christian life. He was loved by all who knew him, as he was a friendly, pleasant and sweet spirited boy, and we believe that when he departed this life that he met the loved ones that are in heaven. Mr. Bryson was laid down to rest in the Crawford cemetery to await his call in the morning of the resurrection.
