Mr. J. D. Brooks died at his home in Oxford last Friday afternoon. His death came suddenly, having been ill only a few hours.
Mr. Brooks was one of the prominent merchants of Oxford and a prominent worker in his church. Mr. Brooks was a native of this County, a brother of Messrs. T. C. and Phill Brooks, but had been living in Oxford for many years.
