J.D. Croom Kills 6-foot Diamondback Rattlesnake Near Home, Aug. 13, 1926

Huge Rattlesnake Killed in Sampson Clinton, Aug. 12—A diamondback rattlesnake measuring 6 feet and 4 inches in length and approximately 12 inches in circumference was killed by J. D. Croom near his home in Newton Cross Roads recently. According to reports, this is the largest snake of its kind ever killed in the county.
