H.S. Almond Doubles Acre Yield on Farm, Oct. 23, 1926

Doubles Acre Yield on Farm

Albemarle, Oct. 23 (AP)—H. S. Almond of Albemarle, Route 6, in Stanly county, has more than doubled the acre yield on his farm during the past six years by the use of soil improving crops with proper rotation, reports O. H. Phillips, county agent.

Six years ago the average cotton production was 200 pounds per acre, and this year Mr. Almond has already harvested six bales from five acres. In addition to this, he has harvested 200 bushels of oats from three acres and has also produced enough corn and other feedstuffs for his livestock.

Mr. Almond also has a good poultry flock, a few cows and some hogs, and according to Mr. Phillips, produces practically all the necessities for home use.
