Fire Took John Benfield's Barn, Mule, Cow, Harvested Roughage, Farming Tools, Oct. 22, 1926

Barn Burned

The large barn of John Benfield, near Concordia church in Rowan county, was totally destroyed by fire about 9:30 o’clock Tuesday night. Besides the barn, one mule, one cow, and all of this year’s roughness and farming tools were consumed.

The man is left in quite bad shape. He lives on the farm of Rev. M. L. Ridenhour. Ther is a suspicion, it is alleged, that the fire was of incendiary origin, but no positive proof.
