Asheville Citizen Says One of Every Seven Marriages End in Divorce, Oct. 17, 1926

A new cause of divorce has been discovered. The Asheville Citizen says that “in the Nation at large there is now one divorce for each seven marriages the radio increases.”

Editor's Note: 1 in 7 is substantially fewer than 1 in 2 weddings ending in divorce, but it also punctures a hole in the idea that divorces were rarer than hen's teeth 100 years ago.
