At the earnest solicitation of a number of friends, Mrs. Minnie Blanton of Forest City this week announces her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for County Treasurer. She is the first lady to announce as a candidate, and her friends claim that she will add much to the strength of the ticket if she gets the nomination. She is well equipped for the place, being an experienced book-keeper and having had a fine business training. She is the widow of the late T.R. Blanton, and is widely known and popular.
