Murderer Dies in Oxford Hospital. . . Killer of Ira Bowen at Clarksville Dies as Result of Self-Inflicted Wounds

Oxford, Aug. 22—Charlie Reams, who shot and killed Ira Bowen yesterday afternoon at Clarkesville, Virginia, and then shot himself in the forehead, died here last night at Brantwood hospital at 11 o’clock according to information from the hospital. Reams, according to Mr. Adkinson, in whose store the shooting occurred, came into the store and without a word shot young Bowen and then turned the gun on himself, firing the bullet which took effect in his forehead. The tragedy took place in the presence of the fathers of the two boys. The motive for the act is not known.
