Jury Agreed Herman Culbreth Deserved Damages, But Cut Amount from $5,000 to $2,000, Oct. 12, 1924

Culbreth Awarded a Verdict After Trial. . . Had Sued Borden Manufacturing Company for $5,000; Was Given Only $2,000

After having been out overnight, the jury in the case of Herman C. Culbreth vs the Borden Manufacturing Company, in which the plaintiff was asking for damages in the sum of $5,000 for injuries which he received while in the company’s employed returned a verdict in his favor, giving him $2,000.

The injury to the plaintiff occurred some time ago when he fell at the company’s plant and sustained a painful injury. He claimed that the floor at that point was slick with grease, and that the accident was due to negligence on the part of the defendant company.
