When the parade forms near the Court House on the opening day of the Columbus County Fair, Tuesday, October 28, the populace of this country will have before their visitation something worth while to look upon. Formation will begin at 11 o’clock. The parade will move from the court house at 11:30 down Madison street to the Fair Grounds.
The formation will be as follows:
1. Victor’s Band.
2. 117th Motor Transport Co.
3. Fair officials and Marshals.
4. Boy Scouts (All Troops in County Will March.)
5. Community Floats.
6. Organization Floats.
7. Commercial Floats.
8. Decorated Cars
Victor’s Band will take its place on the south side of the Court House and the 117th Motor Transport Co. on the west side. The fair officials will take their places at the intersection of Pinkney street and the Court House square. Floats, etc., will follow immediately behind the fair officials, lining up, facing the court house, on Pinkney street.
Mr. E.L. Bell, who has charge of the arrangements for the parade, will have marshals and scouts to help. Some members of the Motor Transport Company will also aid in keeping the streets cleared.
The promise is that many commercial, community, and individual decorated cars and floats will be in the parade. It is to be an auspicious opening, and the crowds are expected to be all the town can hold.
