Chadbourn, Oct. 19—James Brown accidentally shot and killed his half-sister, Miss Annie Bell Robeson, at the home of their mother, Mrs. H.O. Brown, three miles south of here, Friday afternoon. Miss Robeson was sitting on the front porch and young Brown was handling a shotgun a short distance away when the tragedy occurred. The entire discharge from the gun struck its victim in the head.
Miss Robeson, who was a trained nurse in a Chicago hospital, had arrived only a few hours earlier for a visit with homefolks. She received preliminary education in the Monroe orphanage at Oxford. She is survived by her mother, her step-father, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were conducted at the China Grove cemetery at 10 o’clock Cunday (Sunday?).
