An exceptionally valuable acquisition to the book shelves of the Southern Pines Library is a gift of 96 volumes by Mrs. Charles M. Grey. A portion of this gift is a handsomely bound complete set of Scott’s Waverly novels, and the balance is standard fiction of the day. The library is indebted to Mrs. L.A. Gould for a donation of three books; to Miss Louise Caldwell for a year’s subscription to The Christian Register and to Dr. Ramsey for a year’s subscription to Success Magazine. All of these gifts are very acceptable to the trustees and patrons of the library.
