Myrtle Williamson Working with Y.W.C.A. at Queens University, Oct. 4, 1924

Myrtle Williamson

To understand the success of the various student organizations at Queens and particularly that of the Y.W.C.A. one must consider the work of Myrtle Williamson. This has been of such a nature that it can not be overestimated.

Myrtle is an old Q.C. girl—a graduate of 1922. The year following her graduation she taught school, then in the fall of 1923 she entered the Assembly’s Training School in Richmond. But because of ill health she was able to stay only one term. Thus it happened that she was free to be on the campus for several months last spring as an assistant in the library. As she expects to go back to the Training School in November, she has been on the campus for a month in the capacity of advisor and secretary to the Y.W.C.A.

Whether it was to comfort a homesick girl, to help in the preparation for a party, vesper service, discussion group, or in fact almost anything of the kind, Myrtle has ever been ready to do all in her power. Her cheerful, efficient and most helpful service and leadership on Queens campus has further endeared her to her Alma Mater and all its students.
