Mocksville, Oct. 22—The fourth assistant postmaster general had been requested to send an inspector here to investigate the charges of misconduct by Postmaster James L. Sheek of Mocksville.
The citizen’s ticket supporters forwarded their request to the post office department after Editor Leach of the Mocksville Enterprise alleged that Postmaster Sheek held in the Mocksville post office from Wednesday until Friday 300 copies of the Enterprise addressed to paid-in-advance subscribers.
The editor of the Enterprise claims that the papers were held up by Postmaster Sheek because he objected to editorials appearing in that edition concerning Johnson J. Hayes, Republican candidate for the United States Senate I opposition to Senator Overman, and John R. Jones, candidate for solicitor of the seventh judicial district.
