School Children Donate Candy for Sick Soldiers, March 23, 1921

Woman’s Auxiliary Thanks Children for Contributions

The Woman’s Auxiliary of the American Legion, of which Miss Violet Alexander is president, wishes to extend its thanks to the children of the First Ward, Third Ward, Forth Ward and Dilworth and Elizabeth schools for their very liberal contributions of the candy to be sent through the auxiliary to the sick soldiers at the Oteen hospital at Asheville and the hospital at Camp Sevier, Greenville, S.C.

The children of the above-mentioned schools gave candy showers on Tuesday for the Easter box which is being packed Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Adam Fisher, by the ladies of the auxiliary. The contributions were splendid, and the auxiliary appreciates to the utmost the generosity of the children in responding to the call for candy for the sick boys in the hospitals.
