If Williamston is to get a cheap Fire Insurance rate it must have an organized Fire Company. This looks like a good job for the Chamber of Commerce to get behind, or maybe the Chamber of Commerce needs some pulling together.
The present Fire Company is composed of Mr. K.B. Crawford, Chief, and a very few helpers. What we need is a good lively bunch of volunteers. Mr. Crawford should not be called upon to procure the helpers but the Chamber of Commerce should see that he has them. The Fire equipment will soon be here and the town treasurer says the water will be turned on my April the first. The plant will then be classified and the town will be re-classified for insurance rates, and to get a low rate we must have everything in order, and in order to get in order, we must be organized.
