Rocky Mount, May 11—W.L. Jones, alias Little, who was found guilty of murder in the second degree by a jury in Nash county superior court yesterday, was sentenced by Judge Cavert to serve 25 years in the state penitentiary. The conviction of Jones was the outgrowth of a jail delivery at the Nash county jail several weeks ago during which the negro janitor was beaten to death. Jones was being held in the Nash county jail on a charge of stealing an automobile.
