Friends of W.F. Brazill, plumber of Greenville, S.C., were in Charlotte Saturday seeking information as to his whereabouts. Brazill, they reported, left High Point last Tuesday with the announced intention of returning to his wife and two children. He had between $400 and $500 in his pocket at the time. Nothing has been heard from him since.
Investigation at High Point, friends said, revealed that, instead of checking his baggage to Greenville, he checked it to Charlotte. This was responsible for the visit here Saturday in search of the missing man.
Brazill had been employed in High Point for some time as a plumber. He had completed work there and was expected to return to his wife and two children at Greenville.
The woman in charge of the boarding house in High Point where Brazill stopped, reported that a strange man, who had been rooming there, left High Point at the same time as Brazill. Efforts were being made to locate him.
The missing man was described as a man of good habits, and possibilities of his wandering away under the influence of whiskey or drugs was recognized as out of the question. Owing to the large amount of money which was on his person, fear was expressed that he may have met with foul play. Local plumbers were questioned Saturday as to whether Brazill had sought employment in any establishment here, but he could not be located. No trace whatever of him could be fund upon inquiry here. A description was taken by the police and they will make an investigation.
