Raleigh, May 11—Marcus Edwards, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife in 1918, made his escape from the state prison farm, near Raleigh, early today.
Edwards was convicted in the Wake county superior court and sentenced to be electrocuted, but Governor Bickett commuted his sentence to life imprisonment upon condition that he should never apply for a pardon.
