The fairy operetta “The Frog Prince” was presented with enormous success by the pupils of the Elizabeth Graded school Thursday afternoon at the school. The attendance was splendid, and the silver offering taken amounted to $119. By special request, the performance will be repeated Saturday night at the Alexander Graham high school at 8 o’clock, and it is hoped that all who did not see the initial performance will avail themselves of the opportunity to see the repetition. A silver offering will be taken.
Credit for the success of the affair is largely due to Miss Delaney, Miss Phipps and Mrs. Bell, teachers at the Elizabeth school, and Mrs. Charles E. Harrison, chairman of the entertainment committee.
One hundred and twenty-five children participated in the operetta. The leading characters were the Princess, played by Miss Margaret Montgomery, the Frog Prince, Donald Graham, The king, William Stone, the first Maid of Honor, Miss Alice Gray Harrison, the Second Maid of Honor, Catherine Chamberlin. The play was interspersed with songs and dances, all splendidly executed.
