Charlotte, May 10—Capt. John F. Williams Jr. of Charlotte today received notification that the King of Belgium had conferred on him the Cross of Chevalier of the order of the crown. Captain Williams in daylight and unaided destroyed a machine gun nest and captured a number of prisoners during the war.
