Henderson, Nov. 7—Mack Holloway, a young negro, died at the Jubilee Hospital today as a result of a wound in his breast, which he received last night while robbing the store of J.F. White at Gill Siding. He was from Greenville.
S.F. White, son of J.F. White, owner of the store, was asleep in a room above the store when he heard the sound of some one breaking in. Grasping his shotgun, he crept noiselessly down the stairs. He saw a negro man already in the store attempting to steal goods. The boy shot, and the negro fell instantly, vitally wounded. Dr. George Cheatham was called about 3 o’clock and the man was then brought to Jubilee Hospital for negroes for treatment. The man was lying on the floor where he had fallen when Dr. Cheatham reached the store.
